Once you send your Axie away, it’s gone forever and cannot be used in battle.
This is an important step towards adding economic balancing mechanisms to Axie.
This is a day we’ve been looking forward to since 2018. Axie releasing, an important component to Axies’ lives and a key lever in our quest for economic balance, is finally here! We know that this is a feature that the community has been patiently waiting for, and we couldn’t be more excited to show it off to the world!
Releasing has always been an important part of our long-term plan as the Axie Infinity universe grows. This is a very significant aspect of Axie that will evolve and be fully rolled out over time. This is an initial experiment designed to test the releasing feature, gather data, and have fun!
Lunacians now have the opportunity to release their Axies to live independently in Lunacia, and in return their Axies will send them back some exclusive gifts. Please note that once you send your Axie away, they’re gone forever and cannot be used in battle!
These will be Lunar New Year exclusive Land items! These are cosmetic items that players will be able to show-off on their Land, and signify how they took part in the very first launch of the Axie releasing feature. Some day these may be relics of an early era in our history.
This event will run for one month, January 20, 2022 to February 20, 2022.
There are five Lunar New Year items that players might receive including:
Assorted Firecrackers (35%)
Traditional Snack Box (35%)
Blossom Tree (20%)
Lucky Lantern (9%)
Crimson Tiger (1%)
Each Axie released will guarantee one of the five items.
Try to collect all five! Note that the Crimson Tiger is extremely rare, you’ll have to be truly lucky to get it!
That’s not all, every Axie released will generate an entry into a Raffle for even more epic rewards including:
1 Winner: 5 Axie Origin Coin (AOC) tokens
10 Winners: Kitsune Mystic Land Item
100 Winners: CoinGecko or Ganbaru CrypTon Epic Land Items
Axie Origin Coins (AOC) are able to unlock new Origin Axies. Although the previous system that allowed for minting of them is not available currently, we will have a new system in the future on Ronin that will allow for the AOC to be used to mint Origin Axies.
This is our first experiment in Axie releasing. If successful, we plan to have more of these events with unique gifts your Axie will send back.
Going forward, events like this will be an important part of Axie Infinity as a way to allow our Axies to experience more of the world and an essential game mechanic that will drive demand for Axies, which will ultimately create more economic harmony in Lunacia. The gifts Axies send back to you will be varied and unique to each event. As we add more game modes, such as Axie Infinity: Origin and Land gameplay, the possibilities for rewards these events can bear will become even more interesting!
