Key Points
Terrariums V1 goes live June 17th! V1 turns your Land into a living home for your axies, where the world ticks forward and earns on its own every hour. This article covers everything you need to know before launch.
Your land and axies decide your earnings: Rewards scale with your land tier and your axie power, called Atia’s Flame. The rarer your axies and the higher your plot, the bigger your share of the bAXS pool.
A full mechanics breakdown and FAQ: We’ll walk through the Tick, Lunium, Atia’s Flame, and how rewards are calculated, plus an FAQ covering common questions on Homeland sunset, AXP, and more.
Terrariums V1 goes live June 17th! Back in 2019, we shared a vision for Land. A place where your axies actually lived, biomes you could walk through, a world that grew around your collection. On June 17th, that vision takes its first real step.
Activate your plots, bring your axies home, and watch your land earn bAXS every hour. The better you optimize your land and axies, the more you earn.
Terrariums V1 is here, and this is only the beginning.
Here’s everything you need to know before it goes live:
What to expect in Terrariums V1
Terrariums V1 is lightweight and passive by design. Think of it as gamified staking, built to respect your time. The core loop is simple:
Activate your land → Assign your axies → Consume Lunium per tick → Earn bAXS every hour.
This is the first honest step toward the full 2019 Land vision. We’re starting small and solid, then growing the world from there. More active gameplay and features are coming in future updates, so stay tuned.
What is the Tick?
The Tick is the hourly heartbeat of Terrariums. Every hour, your land consumes Lunium, earns bAXS, and keeps moving while you’re off doing other things. Run out of Lunium and your axies switch to earning AXP instead on each tick, so your land is always doing something. The better you optimize each tick, the more you take home.
What is Lunium?
Lunium is a new off-chain resource that powers your land and lets it earn bAXS. Your earnings then scale with your axie power, called Atia’s Flame. The reward structure works like the Bounty Board: each plot type shares a prize pool, and that pool is split between owners based on the Atia’s Flame they hold.
There are two types of Lunium:
Global Lunium is purchased Lunium. You can buy it in the in-game shop starting at $0.99 for 25,000 Lunium, with no cap on how much you hold. It works across every plot under your account.
Local Lunium is free. Each plot generates it slowly on its own, roughly five days of regen for one day of earning at full pace, and it’s capped per plot.
Top up if you want full speed, or let it tick over at its own pace. Both are fine.
You can also choose which Lunium to spend first:
Prioritize Global: consumes Global first, then rolls into Local once it runs out.
Prioritize Local: consumes Local only, then stops without touching your Global.
What is Atia’s Flame?
Atia’s Flame is your axie power, and it decides how much bAXS your plot earns. The amount depends on the rarity of your axies. For example, a normal axie carries 5 Flame, while a Mystic carries 1,000. The rarer the axie, the more Atia’s Flame it brings, and the more you generate each hour, the bigger your share of the rewards.
Pro-tip: every plot has a slot limit of 30 axies. To fully optimize a plot, fill those slots with the rarest axies you can, and stack as much Atia’s Flame as possible.
How is your reward calculated?
Each plot type shares a set bAXS prize pool, split between owners based on the Atia’s Flame they hold each tick.
For example, an Arctic plot has a monthly pool of 38,893 bAXS, paid out at 54.02 bAXS per tick across every Arctic owner. Your share depends on how much Atia’s Flame your axies bring against the total Atia’s Flame of everyone in that plot category.
Here’s the formula:
Unlike Homeland, where each plot had a fixed AXS ceiling, Terrariums is pool-based. Your earnings rise and fall with how many axies are active in your category and how well you optimize, which means an active, well-built plot can earn more than the old fixed cap ever allowed. The higher your land tier and the rarer your axies, the bigger your share.
FAQ
Q: Will Homeland progression carry over to Terrariums?
A: No. We want to give a fresh start for this new experience.
Q: Can we still earn AXP from Homeland after the game is sunset?
A: No. Homeland will be fully sunset, meaning you’ll no longer be able to access or play it after the specified date. Make sure to claim any remaining rewards sitting in your account by June 17, 3PM PH. Check full details here.
Q: Do I need to manually revoke my land delegation contract?
A: No. All delegation contracts will be automatically revoked and withdrawn when Homeland sunsets on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The land delegation site will also be deprecated at that time.
Q: Can we use delegated axies for our own Terrariums?
A: Not on V1, but this will be added in future updates.
Q: Will land items, axie levels, evolved parts, amount of collectible parts, land positions, and estates matter?
A: Think of V1 as laying the foundation for the future of Terrariums. These features are planned for future integrations starting from v1.1 onward.
Q: Is Lunium an on-chain token?
A: No, it’s an off-chain token that isn’t tradable.
Q: Can I buy Lunium with bAXS?
A: Yes. Lunium can be purchased using bAXS, AXS, USDC, and WETH.
Q: If I buy Lunium with bAXS, will an exchange rate be applied?
A: No. There’s no exchange rate applied when purchasing Lunium with bAXS.
Q: Will I be able to earn bAXS in Terrariums without buying Lunium?
A: Yes. Your Land NFT has a passive Lunium regeneration rate. If you choose not to buy Lunium, your plot regenerates enough for one day’s worth of earnings over a five-day period. This is your Local Lunium (plot-based).
Q: Will I be able to earn AXP in Terrariums without Lunium?
A: Yes. Axies always earn AXP per tick, even without Lunium, but only while they aren’t contributing Atia’s Flame to the plot.
Q: Will purchased Lunium be usable for a specific plot only, or all lands under the same account?
A: Usable for all lands under the same account. This is your Global Lunium (account-wide).
Q: Can I use Local Lunium from one plot on a different plot?
A: No. Local Lunium can only be spent on the plot that generated it. If you want Lunium that works across all your plots you’ll need to purchase Global Lunium.
Q: Where does the revenue generated from Lunium go?
A: While the initial plan was to route it directly to the Treasury, the team is currently exploring alternative ways to use this revenue to directly benefit the community.
Q: What is the Total Plot Category Atia’s Flame mentioned in the formula?
A: It’s the total Atia’s Flame of all owners in the same plot category.
