In Season 5, there will be a total of 112,000 AXS up for grabs across the Leaderboard, Fortune Chests, Contests, and Weekly Missions. That means there’s more than one way to earn AXS and share in the ownership of Axie.

Introducing Three New Starter Axies!
Lunacia, say hello to Momo, Pomodoro, and Venoki!
These new starter axies are ready for battle, but only the worthy among us will be able to unlock and wield them in the arena. Accomplish specific starter missions to unlock them and earn resources to promote them. Here’s a sneak-peek at the skills Momo, Pomodoro, and Venoki bring to Origins.

Gifts For Collectibles
We’re thrilled to bestow new rewards to collectible axies. Starting this Season 5 Rare Era, select collectible axie will receive special gifts to give them strength in battle.
Axies eligible to receive rewards are Mystic, Origin, MEO, MEO II, Japanese, Christmas, Shiny, and Summer. If you own and hold any of these collectible axies in your Ronin wallet, check your in-game mail! The snapshot for this was taken on July 26th at 00:000 UTC.
(P.S. You will only receive rewards one time, based on the most rare axie you have. This means having multiple collectible axies does not mean you will receive multiple rewards)
This reward scheme is an experiment inspired by the recent launch of Axie Experience Points (AXP), where we saw more players wanting to use their favorite axie in Origins. With these rewards, we’re giving a little bit more utility and special meaning to owning a collectible axie.
Sad that your axies aren’t receiving any rewards this Era? It’s okay — you can buy a collectible axie at App.axie before the Epic Era snapshot.
Mint 2x the Runes and Charms
We heard our community’s feedback that minting fees for Runes and Charms were too high. That’s why we’ve reduced the mint cost for Epic and Mystic Runes and Charms by 50%. That means you can mint twice as many as before! We’re excited to see how this change affects crafting behaviour and marketplace activity.
AXS Distribution for Season 5
In Season 5, there will be a total of 112,000 AXS up for grabs across the Leaderboard, Fortune Chests, Contests, and Weekly Missions. That means there’s more than one way to get your hands on a juicy bag of AXS! This gives casual players the opportunity to earn AXS and share in the ownership of Axie. Here’s how it’s going to work:
~85,000 AXS for the seasonal Leaderboard Rewards
~15,000 AXS for Fortune Chests
~7,000 AXS for Contests
~5,000 AXS for Weekly Missions
In the Rare Era, 16,994 AXS will be on the line. That’s 20% of the total Leaderboard Rewards! Which comps will shine through during those first two weeks? Let us know on Twit— uh, on X. Let us know on X. 😄

Final Thoughts
Season 5 comes with many new and exciting changes. We’re excited to see which comps will dominate during the Rare era. We’re also looking forward to seeing more players exploring the other aspects of Origins more, such as Contests and Weekly Missions, now that there are also ways to get AXS rewards through these.
