Welcome to Season 4!
Axie Infinity: Origins Season 4 has begun! We’ve put boatloads of AXS on the line, shipped game-changing updates, introduced starter Axie progression… and much more. Get ready, Lunacia — here’s what’s in store for Season 4!
AXS Leaderboard
The total prize pool for Season 4 is a whopping 111,764 AXS! If you think you can compete against the strongest players in Lunacia, here’s what you need to know.
In Season 4, each era will last two weeks. That means the Rare Era will start today, the Epic Era will start on May 24, and the Mystic Era will start on June 7. How will this shake up the Origins meta? Find out in the arena! ⚔️
These adjustments were made in consideration of Community feedback. Each era has a different dynamic that appeals to different archetypes of players.
Balancing and Mechanic Updates
The balancing and mechanic updates we shared on April 25th are now LIVE. Most of the balancing updates are small: for example, Topaz will now deal 12 bonus DMG for each card in your Banish Pile instead of 15. However, some of the mechanic updates may shake things up dramatically: for example, unused Energy will now be converted into Energy Fragments and players can now “Keep” cards using Energy Fragments instead of Energy. We’re excited to observe how these twists spice up the game and we’re cautiously optimistic that they may increase skill cap and create more outplay potential.
Don’t get caught off-guard in the middle of battle and make sure to review the Changelog below!

Need for Speed: Lunacian Edition
In March, we introduced Blitz Mode to Origins. These are matches at 1.5x speed and our community LOVED the faster paced gameplay! Today, we’re taking what we learned and increasing regular Arena Mode match animations to 1.35x speed in Season 4. Plus, Blitz Mode will now clock in at 1.75x speed. Let us know how you feel about this new update and tweet out Arena clips using the #AxieOrigins hashtag.
Rank Changes: Before and Now
We’ve also updated the Arena rank rewards and progression to stimulate the leaderboard. In the lower ranks, players will have more opportunity to progress faster. In the higher ranks, players will have to battle more often to keep their ranks. Here’s a “Before and After” — or should we say, “Before and Now” — look at what’s new in rank progression:
❌ Before, Eggs, Chicks, and Hares would earn 0 Victory Stars on draws.
✅ Now, they will earn 10.
❌ Before, Eggs, Chicks, and Hares would lose 10 Victory Stars on losses.
✅ Now, they will lose 0.
❌ Before, Boars, Wolves, and Bears would earn 10 Victory Stars on wins.
✅ Now, they will earn 20.
❌ Before, Tigers avoided decay by playing 1 match per day.
✅ Now, they must play 2 matches per day.
❌ Before, Dragons avoided decay by playing 1 match per day.
✅ Now, they must play 3 matches per day.
Introducing: Missions, Class Badges, and Honor Medals
Log into Origins? Earn rewards. Win a ranked match? Earn rewards. Craft an item? Okay — we know you get it! In Season 4, these Daily and Weekly Missions and their juicy rewards will continue with a big twist.
On top of regular rewards, players can now earn new Class Badges and Honor Medals by completing Daily and Weekly Missions. These are the keys to promoting and enhancing starter axies. Yes, you read that right: you can now promote and enhance starter axies. Let’s dive in.
Starter Axie Promotions and Enhancements
Starting today, players can promote and enhance their starter axies to acquire new skills and art! This offers a glimpse into how future progression systems around your NFT axies might look like and will give us invaluable feedback around this type of system. *
Players can promote their starter axies to unlock card enhancements using Class Badges and Honor Medals earned from Daily and Weekly Missions or won from the Mystery Box. These axies now start with 350 HP instead of 320. In the example above, enhancing Tripp’s Nut Cracker card would give him new abilities and an HP boost. Plus, starter axies will now come with a set of starter Runes and Charms. These new features are part of our plan to upgrade the new user experience for better onboarding into the Axie universe.
Esports Mode on the main Origins Client
We’re also excited to share that esports mode is now available within the main Origins client. Anyone, anywhere can toggle it on to start esports matches with friends! In esports mode, all runes and charms are unlocked while wins and losses won’t affect the Origins PVP rank. This is one way we’re improving our competitive player experience in tournaments.
Read this guide to learn how to activate Esports Mode.
Note that we will soon shut down the old esports server forever.
Final Thoughts
Congratulations to everyone who placed in the Off-Season Ladder. Think you have what it takes to climb the Season 4 Leaderboard? May Atia bless your noble quest, and see you in the Arena! ⚔️
