Origin Season 0: Phase 3 Is Here!
Origin Season 0 is here! This marks the transition into Phase 3.
Key Points:
Origin Season 0 is here! This marks the transition into Phase 3.
SLP rewards have been added to Origin’s ranked gameplay mode and completely removed from Classic (v2).
NFT Runes & Charms are here! These require SLP & Moon Shards to craft and can be minted onto Ronin through the Marketplace.
We’ve also adjusted Leaderboard rewards, tweaked the crafting/disenchanting systems, made balancing changes, & more!
As we continue to improve the game and work towards a Season 1 launch, all rewards, crafting costs, card balancing, and other components of the game are subject to significant tuning and changes during Season 0.
Origin Season 0 is here! Season 0 lasts for 30 days and marks the transition of Origin into Phase 3. This is a huge step forward for our digital nation as there are a variety of important updates.
Vince (“Zoser”) from the Origin team has put together a video to review some of the major changes/additions to Season 0.
Season 0: Smooth Love Potion (SLP)
As planned, we will be moving SLP over from Axie Infinity Classic (V2) to Axie Infinity Origin (V3) as part of Phase 3. This means that SLP emission will be completely turned off from V2 on August 12th at 9:30 AM GMT +7.
One major benefit of transitioning to Origin from Classic is expanded abilities to balance the SLP economy. Thus, the design of the SLP rewards system with Origin is being tuned in a way to align with that goal.
Similar to Classic, SLP will continue to only be distributed in PvP Ranked mode when players win battles, and the higher Rank that one is competing in, the more SLP rewards they will receive per win.
However, of course a major difference in Origin will be that SLP is required to craft various Charms and Runes.
The new mint system will be reduced from 14 days to 7 days for SLP.
However, no SLP will be allowed to be minted during Season 0 (30 days) as we monitor the system. If any bugs, abuse, or exploits are found in SLP emissions, players may have SLP taken away before it can be minted.
Watch this video to find our how to deposit and withdraw SLP through the Origin Portal on the Marketplace.
Season 0: Leaderboard Rewards
While the leaderboard in Season Alpha featured 49,157 AXS paid out to 10,000 players, the leaderboard in Season 0 is increased to 60,708 AXS paid out to 20,000 players.
Season 0: Crafting Changes
Starting Season 0 of Origin, there will be many changes coming to the crafting system. One of the biggest and most anticipated changes is the ability to craft Runes and Charms that can be minted onto the blockchain (Now called Ronin Runes/Charms), to be able to buy/sell/trade/gift other players. Other changes include:
New Crafting Recipes
Crafting utility items, such as moonstones/moon dusts, can no longer be crafted. However, they can still be earned by advancing through the game
Small change to utility item %’s
Season 0: Disenchanting
Disenchanting is an important mechanic that allows Runes and Charms to have sustained utility after they expire (seasonal). We want players who put a lot of time, resources, and effort to gain value from these, while ensuring a balance is still maintained relative to players who do not disenchant. Based on this, we’ve tuned the disenchant rates for S0 to be the following:
**These are subject to change season to season depending on economic factors**
*SLP is only returned when disenchanting Ronin Runes/Charms
Season 0: NFT Runes & Charms
Beginning Season 0 we are excited to announce the launch of the ERC-1155 tokens in NFT Runes & Charms (“Ronin” Runes and Charms). What makes Ronin Runes and Charms unique:
Require SLP to craft
Can be minted onto the blockchain
Can be bought/sold/gifted using the marketplace
We’ve created a video tutorial overview covering depositing and withdrawing Runes and Charms from your in-game inventory to the Axie marketplace.
Each Ronin Rune and Charm will cost a small fee to mint onto the blockchain, this is paid in AXS and is pegged at $3 USD of AXS per Rune/Charm. This fee is paid each time a Rune/Charm is minted to the blockchain (even if that Rune/Charm had existed on the chain before, since depositing into the game burns the Rune/Charm).
Due to precautions around the economy and to verify this at scale, we’ve set the minimum mint time for Season 0 to be 7 days. This means any Ronin Rune/Charm that is deposited/crafted will need to wait 168 hours before it can be minted to the blockchain to have an interaction with the marketplace.
Season 0: Moon Shard and Reward Changes
Starting Season 0 of Origin, there are many changes as to how Moon Shards and Utility Crafting Items (Moon Dusts and Ancient Moonstones) are earned. The primary goal is to reward players who are playing the game the most and progressing through the ranks. At the same time, these changes should prevent people from wanting to multi-account. Below is a basic overview of the changes:
Increased Moon Shards from Ranked Arena Wins
Rewards (Runes/Charms + Utility Crafting Items) from Increasing Crafting Level
Utility crafting items given out sporadically in the First-time Rank Up rewards
Decreased Moon Shards from First-time Rank Up rewards, especially in earlier ranks
Decreased Moon Shards from Adventure, Star Milestone, and Foraging Box
Removed all Moon Shard rewards from account level-up
