Key Points
We’re excited to introduce Mavis Hub: Greenlight on the Mavis Hub desktop app. This platform helps game developers share early versions of their Axie games with the community and gamifies the process of Mavis Hub listing through a voting process!
Greenlight has a couple of early games to play! Go give Tri-Force and Culinary Wars a try now!
Mavis Hub Greenlight is part of an ongoing initiative to upgrade and update the Axie Builder’s Program although it may also be applied to all kinds of games in the future!
We’re thrilled to introduce Mavis Hub: Greenlight— a new program that will increase the number of Axie games on the Mavis Hub by adding a way for the community to vote on their favorite up-and-coming Axie Infinity games.
Greenlight is an an important step towards making it seamless to build Axie Infinity alongside the community. Infinite games, infinite opportunities, infinite fun! Here’s everything you need to know:
Introducing Greenlight
Mavis Hub is a launchpad for playable pre-production games developed by game developers within our ecosystem, whether built by Sky Mavis, our partners, or first time game developers. Today, we’re revealing Mavis Hub: Greenlight on the Mavis Hub Desktop App, with the web-based version coming soon. This is a required update for all users. Inside the platform, players will be able to play-test games and vote for their favorites! This gives the developers of those games an awesome early distribution platform, and the chance to gather precious feedback and build their communities within Lunacia. When a game performs well on Mavis Hub: Greenlight, it also builds the case for those games to receive additional support through opportunities like additional grants, user acquisition budgets for soft launches, and induction into the Axie Builder’s Program.
How to Download Greenlight Games
Step 1. After downloading the latest version of the Mavis Hub, look for the Greenlight banner and click Vote NOW.
Step 2. You will be directed to the page with all available Greenlight games. After choosing a game, click on the game to go to the game's detail page.
Step 3. Click on Install and install it on your device.
Step 4. Click Start Installation then wait until the hub finishes installing the game.
Step 5. After installing the game, click Play to start playing and testing the game!
How Developers Get the Greenlight
First, a community-developed Axie game must reach a playable “beta” state. This means it should have a completed core game loop, and be able to provide at least one complete game session for players. Then, game developers can submit their game for Greenlight through this application form and learn more via our Builder's Discord channel when the game is ready! A review panel will review the submitted games and make successful games available on Mavis Hub: Greenlight. Once a game has been listed, Lunacians around the world will be able to download and play – directly from Mavis Hub!
The First Games on Greenlight
We wanted to kick off Greenlight with a bang, so we’re excited to launch Mini Tri-Force and Culinary Wars as the first LIVE games on Greenlight!
In Mini Tri-Force, your forest has been poisoned by an unknown entity. This puts your Axie clan in danger, and you must battle the youkai to restore the forest’s balance before it’s too late.
In Culinary Wars, you are the head chef in charge of a crazy kitchen! Make juices, salads, chips, baked corn, and more. Then, get them to your customers’ table on time to earn more money! Culinary Wars also gives a glimpse into the 3D axie mixer, which will be key to allowing our NFT axies come to life in future Axie experiences.
These games are just the beginning of the experiences we will explore together through Greenlight. Stay tuned for numerous partner and builder’s-designed games to join these two games soon!
The Upgraded Axie Builder’s Program
In April 2022, the Axie Builder’s Program began as a way to unleash our community builders’ creativity for the benefit of the entire Axie Infinity ecosystem. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved already, and are ready to take things to the next level… together. Over the past year, we’ve learned so much from the first round of the program, and want to take feedback we’ve received from you to heart. We believe these new features will create more opportunity for our community and will continue to contribute towards our exciting Axie Core efforts coming soon.
Doubling Down on our Amazing Community of Builders!
While we had high hopes for the Builder’s Program, we think it’s safe to say that the first phase of the Axie Infinity Builder’s Program was a huge success. We deeply appreciate the commitment, creativity, endless passion, and yes… patience, of all of our program’s participants! In honor of their work, we only saw it fitting to improve the program in response to their feedback and experiences. Here’s what some of our existing ABP participants have to say about both the updates to the program and Greenlight!
“This update has the potential to be a game-changer for current and future Axie Builder Program projects. I'm eager to explore the new features and enhancements, which I believe will elevate our project in ABP. “
-Axie Infinity War Team
“The Greenlight Program will provide a unified platform for ABP projects, offering better visibility, standardized functionalities, and direct community feedback. A key benefit of the Greenlight Program is the potential for better networking among ABP games through improved interoperability. This opportunity for shared experiences, backed by 'Axie Core' updates, aligns with our mission to provide more engaging community content and shared experiences.”
-Inter the Dungeon Team
Final Thoughts
When we launched the Axie Builder’s Program in 2022, we saw a future of infinite Axie games co-created by our community. Today, we feel confident that this next step in our journey will incentivize a growing number of high-quality teams to form and apply going forward. Over the long run, we hope that as with everything we’re working towards, this program can continue to evolve and become more progressively decentralized over time. Now, let’s get back to building!
