Introducing: Lunacian Badges

Axie badges are here! We’ve released 8 inaugural badges to some of our most devoted Lunacians including Mystic axie owners, Origin axie owners, Season 0 Governance Contributors, AxieCon attendees, and more.
Most badges are dynamic, which means you can acquire or lose them if ownership of an underlying asset changes. However, certain badges – like the Axie Contributor and AxieCon badges – are non-transferable ERC-1155 tokens, soulbound to the original wallet.
See your fellow Lunacians’ badges by visiting their profile pages on App.axie! Note that these are separate from the Ronin Gaming ID Badge, which is a non-Axie identifier built by our partners at Clique.
We’ve released the first-ever Lunacian Badges! Today, we’re bestowing the first eight of these badges to some of our most devoted Lunacians. These long-awaited endowments are the first step towards honoring and celebrating our individual achievements in Lunacia.
Badge Details
In this release, we’re granting eight new badges to the Lunacians who have earned them. We plan on introducing new badges periodically and understand that there are so many awesome achievements that could and should have badges in the future. Most badges are dynamic, which means you can acquire or lose them when ownership of the underlying asset changes. For example, if you’ve received a badge for owning a Mystic axie and then sell your Mystic, you will no longer have the Mystic axie owner badge. However, a few badges will be non-transferable, soulbound ERC-1155. In this release, AxieCon and Axie Contributor badges will be soulbound. Here’s the list of badges going live with this release:
Mystical Badge - Own a Mystic axie
Original Badge - Own an Origin axie (including Mystics)
Class Master Badge - Own an axie from every class
Part Master Badge - Own 1 of every normal axie part
Axie Collector Badges - Own 3/100/500 axies (3 milestones)
Good Goodbye Badges - Release 5/100/500 axies (3 milestones)
AxieCon: Barcelona Badge - Attended AxieCon 2022 in Barcelona
Note: there are a few AxieCon attendees who haven’t shared their Ronin addresses with us yet. We’re working on a process to gather any missing addresses so you can claim your badges!

How to Display Your Badges
Step 1: Go to your User Profile on App.axie
Step 2: Click the Customize Profile button.
Step 3: Click Badges on the profile customization menu.
Step 4: Select the badges you would like to showcase on your profile, then click Save Changes.
Step 5: Your preferences would then be saved, and the selected badges would be proudly displayed on your profile for all other Lunacians to see!

Badge FAQ
Q: Are these connected to my Ronin Gaming ID?
A: No, Lunacian Badges are separate from your Ronin Gaming ID.
Q: Will I lose my badges if I sell my assets?
A: It depends. If a badge is based on ownership of an asset and you sell that asset, the answer is yes! For example, if you’ve received a badge for owning a Mystic axie and then sell your Mystic, you will no longer have the Mystic axie owner badge. However, soulbound badges will remain in your wallet forever.
Q: How many badges can I display in my profile?
A: You can display five badges in your profile. In the future, we plan to expand the number of badges you can display.
Q: How do soulbound badges work?
A: These badges are non-transferable ERC-1155 tokens. That means they will stay in your wallet forever, and other people may have identical badges to yours. For example, the AxieCon badge is soulbound. That means everyone who went to AxieCon will have the same AxieCon badge in their wallet, and they will never lose it because the token is non-transferable.
Q: How do I get support for missing badges (AxieCon and Contributor Badge)?
A:If you believe that the contributor badge has been missed out on your profile, you can submit the form here for our support team to initiate the verification process. For the AxieCon badge, you should receive an email within 6 hours after this feature announcement, requesting details regarding your Ronin wallet address. Any requests to address a missing badge must be submitted before the September 5th deadline, at 00:00 UTC+00.
Final Thoughts
Many Lunacians have been asking about badges since the early days of Axie because they understand the importance of celebrating our most passionate missionaries. Badges form a key piece of identity that may even create additional benefits for users in the future. For example, badges could be used as part of the Axie score feature in the future which could have implications for the rewards AXS stakers are eligible to claim. In addition, imagine rewards or exclusive perks such as whitelist access and gifts from future Ronin projects that are given specifically to holders of certain badges. This is just the beginning and there are more badges to come!
