Today, we wave goodbye to Axie Infinity: Homeland phase 1! Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work refining our flagship experience built on top of player-owned Lunacian real estate. Thanks to your ongoing feedback, input, and ambitions for Homeland, we’re as excited as we’ve ever been to continue developing this game alongside our community. The beta phase will begin on January 24th, and we’ll share more details as the date approaches. We have a series of updates that we’re eager to share with you over the next week or so.
When we first released Homeland, we described a series of phases for the game:
Today, we’d like to share what moving deeper into Homeland phase 2 will mean, our high level goals for this phase, and how we hope to collectively measure our progress.
We're excited to announce that many of the phase 2 features will be included in the Beta release, and we'll share more details in the next few days! We’ve also integrated core code that’ll allow us to experiment with the economic goals we’ve targeted for phase 3. For example, hopefully you’ve seen the sneak preview we shared for our eagerly awaited land delegation functionality:
While phase 2 from a gameplay perspective will introduce a number of new foundational game features, our primary growth target is deeper ongoing player engagement. A greater diversity of players, playing more regularly speeds up our feedback loop and player feedback is the oxygen Homeland needs to grow and thrive.
Gameplay data from phase 1 illustrates that there’s so much more we can do to incentivize both a larger playerbase, and deeper engagement inside the game itself. Therefore, many of the changes we’ll make to Homeland will be experiments to both grow daily active user counts, and also grow overall time spent in the game. If everything goes according to plan, this will bring more utility to and demand for land plots. Another way to think about this: we want to maximize the number of plots being played every day, week, and month.
Secondary high level goals for phase 2 include measuring and growing Axie Community Treasury revenue from land-related activities, and improving ongoing communication with Homeland’s growing player base. If you have ideas around any of these goals, please share them with us!
Stay tuned for more updates and details into the upcoming enhancements as we approach the upcoming launch of phase 2 over the course of the next week!
