Axie Origin Coin (AOC) Tokens Migrating to Ronin
It's time to bring our axies home
Key Points
All remaining AOC tokens on Ethereum will migrate to Ronin on January 22nd, 7 AM UTC, 3 PM PH / 3 AM EST.
AOC token holders will be able to roll their tokens after the migration is complete. Every roll (5 AOC tokens) will give birth to an Origin axie. Each of the Axie’s 6 body parts will have a 1/18 chance of being a Mystic part.
Today, there are 36 AOC token holders including Sky Mavis. Sky Mavis has reserved some AOC tokens for future marketing and rewards.
Lunacia, it’s time to bring our axies home. Five years ago, we minted 1,375 Axie Origin Coin (AOC) tokens on Ethereum. This was before Ronin even existed. These AOC tokens held the power to give birth to new Origin axies. On January 22nd, we’ll migrate these AOC tokens home to Ronin! Let’s talk about what that means:
The History of Axie Origin Coins
Origin axies are the ancestors of every axie that ever lived (except MEO axies). They were the first axies in Lunacia, and that means you can trace the genetic history of every axie back to an Origin axie. However, if all axies came from Origin axies, where did Origin axies come from? AOC tokens.
AOC tokens give birth to Origin axies. 5 AOC = 1 Origin axie. However, there are still 1,375 AOC tokens sitting in various wallets on Ethereum, unrolled. That’s 275 unborn Origin axies! On January 22nd, we’ll migrate those tokens to Ronin and make it possible to roll them into Origin axies. Oh, and there’s a chance an axie born from an AOC token will have a Mystic part! Mystic Axies: the Rarest in Lunacia
Mystic axies are the rarest subset of axies in existence, and they’re unique in many ways. For example, their distinct aesthetic parts make them stand out from their normal counterparts. Each Mystic axie can also receive up to 400 Fortune Slips per day from Atia, which is 4x more than Origin axies. They even grant their holder a Radiant Spirit Shell at an every ascension. These features are on top of bonuses collectible axies often receive — like the recent HP boost. Above all, Mystic axies make a statement: each and every Mystic holder believes in our movement. Collector’s Corner
The AOC token migration will be interesting for collectors. The new high-ID Origin and (possible) Mystic axies in circulation will add a new element of rarity. There will now be two types of Origin axies: low-ID, ancestral Origin axies and high-ID, migrated axies. How many of each will you want for your collection?
We have also yet to see a penta/hexa Mystic axie in Lunacia — ie. an axie with five or six Mystic parts. Will it happen after the migration on January 22nd? There’s only one way to find out…
AOC Snapshot Details
We will take a snapshot of the AOC contract on January 22, 2024, 7 AM UTC. At that point, AOC tokens will be sent to the equivalent Ronin address of the ETH address holding the AOC on ETH.
Example: 0x4dada3 owns 45 tokens on ETH at snapshot time. ronin:4dada3 will receive 45 AOC tokens on Ronin after migration. You can read more about how to import an ETH wallet into the Ronin wallet in our Support Article.
Migrating your AOC tokens to Ronin is a must, otherwise the tokens will be worthless.
