bAXS Rewards

S17 marks the official debut of bAXS rewards in Origins. All season rewards will be paid out in bAXS for the first time.

bAXS (Bonded AXS) is a non-transferable utility token backed 1:1 by AXS. It can be used for breeding, ascending, evolving, and staking, but cannot be transferred between accounts. This keeps value circulating within the Axie ecosystem and rewards players who are here for the long run.

Converting bAXS to AXS requires a Treasury fee scaled to your Axie Score. Mythkeepers and other high-reputation players enjoy significantly lower fees, rewarding long-term dedication over short-term farming.

In S17, the Top 2,000 players will share an 80K bAXS prize pool. The Rare Era alone features 20K bAXS in rewards, alongside additional bonus incentives.

Competitive Integrity Checks

Keeping Origins fair is a top priority. After our S16 investigation led to 241 accounts being permanently banned for multi-accounting, we’re raising the bar for S17.

Competitive integrity checks will now run after every era. Era rewards will be held until each check is complete so legitimate players can trust that the leaderboard reflects real competition, not just at season’s end but throughout.

Multi-accounting and leaderboard manipulation will result in a permanent ban from Axie Origins. No exceptions.

Reminder: Collectible Chest Rewards

The Collectible Chest pool returns with 10,000 bAXS up for grabs and like season rewards, Collectible Chest payouts will be in bAXS for the first time.

The rules are the same: finish the Rare Era at Tiger rank or higher while holding your Collectible Axie for the entire era to earn Collectible Chests. Open them for Tickets, then redeem those Tickets for your share of the bAXS pool.

Combat Overhaul: Single Axie Combat

We heard your feedback from Playtest 1 loud and clear. Playtest 2 introduces major changes to how combat feels, what you can do, and how far you can push your skills.

The biggest change in Playtest 2 is how you fight. Combat has been rebuilt around single axie control. You now command one axie with a basic attack, an ultimate ability, and a dash button. No more juggling multiple axies at once and being forced to use Tripp. Auto Combat has been removed entirely. This is full manual play.

The result? A higher skill ceiling, more responsive controls, and combat that feels like yours.

Five New Weapons & Skills

Alongside all the weapons and skills from Playtest 1, Playtest 2 introduces five brand-new weapons, each with their own unique skills:

• Dagger: Dash and teleport for fast, agile strikes.

• Talisman: Fire homing projectiles from a distance.

• Lantern: Hybrid damage dealer with area-of-effect bursts.

• Flute: Support weapon that heals allies and damages enemies.

• Tome: Ranged magic nuker with crowd control.

We encourage playtesters to experiment with as many combinations as possible. Farm monsters for gold, buy gear, and get stronger as you push deeper. The right build could mean the difference between victory and defeat in the dungeon.

New Dungeon Mode

Beneath the forests of Garuda Grove, old passages have reopened. The Sapidae say the land shifts when something beneath it wakes. Whether it’s treasure or threat down there depends on how far you’re willing to go.

This brand-new dungeon mode features 10 stages of escalating difficulty with two modes: Casual and Hardcore. Each stage gives you a 3-minute window to defeat all enemies before time runs out. Every 3 stages, you’ll face a boss.

Here’s where it gets interesting: after clearing a stage, you choose. Extract your rewards and leave safely, or press forward into the next stage for bigger loot. But be warned: if you fail, you lose everything you’ve earned.

What does endgame PvE look like in Atia's Legacy? The dungeon mode is one answer the team is exploring, built around risk. The adrenaline of pushing deeper with a pile of loot on the line. The satisfaction of a perfect extract. The sting of losing it all, and the urge to run it back immediately. That loop is what the team is testing.

How the Codex Works

Think of the Codex like a battle pass on App.axie.

Get Codex → Unlock and complete quests → Earn points → Secure rewards.

There are free and premier paths. Free path users unlock lore and earn Bounty Points that can lead to more weekly Bounty Board rewards. Premier path users get access to exclusive rewards, perks, and Spirit Clay on top of that.

The Three Paths

This season tells the story of Spirit Clay: how it was discovered, used to defend Lunacia, and what happened when it fell into the wrong hands.

Path I: Kei and the First Golem explores the origins of Spirit Clay.

Path II: The Golems of War tells of the alliance that defended Lunacia.

Path III: The Black Kiln reveals what happens when creation is twisted by ambition.

Three paths. Three perspectives. Each path can be completed in any order, and together they tell one connected story.

What Can You Earn?

Free path users can unlock lore content and earn Bounty Points through progression.

Codex Perks

Premier path users unlock perks that completely change how you play the Bounty Board. Think of them as new tools to shape your own strategy. How you use them is up to you.

Perk 1: First 2 rerolls on each quest slot are free, and you earn bonus Bounty Points on Daily Milestones.

Perk 2: Get an extra quest slot and pick which game pools it draws from. This slot trades some BP for 50% more Codex Points.

Perk 3: Rerolls are more likely to land Master Quests across all your quest slots.

How to Access the Codex

Step 1: Go to the Codex on App.axie

Step 2: Log in with your account

Step 3: Set your Path Order. Choose which of the three lore paths to tackle first

Step 4: Choose to play Free or activate Premier Paths

Step 5: Complete quests and level up to unlock lore segments and rewards

Step 6: Claim rewards every time you reach a new level

Each path has 20 levels with three lore segments that unlock as you progress. Complete all three paths and piece together the full story of Spirit Clay.

S0 Codex Orb Utility

If you earned the Codex Orb during Season 0, it’s about to pay off. Consume your Orb to instantly complete any purchased Mini Path, jumping straight to the perks and rewards. A serious headstart if you’re trying to complete all three paths fast. These Orbs are limited and only one can be used per account. If you’ve been holding onto yours, this is the moment.

Spirit Clay & The Black Kiln

Spirit Clay is the new seasonal currency in Season 1. Earn it through Codex progression, then spend 4 Spirit Clay per spin at the Black Kiln. Every spin is a shot at bAXS and three exclusive, limited-edition accessories ranging from Rare to Mystic. These accessories can only be earned through the Black Kiln this season, and once it closes, no more will exist.

Fortune Slips also just got more useful. You can now convert them into Spirit Clay at 100 Fortune Slips per 1 Spirit Clay. Completing Mini Paths unlocks even more Spirit Clay to purchase (up to 40 per completed path), which means more spins.

Note: Spirit Clay does not carry over between seasons. Use it before the Black Kiln closes!

For the first time ever, the Codex is purchasable with bAXS. It’s 4 bAXS per Mini Path, or 12 bAXS for all three.

Q: How much does the Codex cost?
A: Each Mini Path costs 4 bAXS. All three paths together cost 12 bAXS.

Q: Can I buy the Codex anytime during the season?
A: Yes. You can purchase it anytime during the season to unlock rewards for the levels you’ve already reached.

Q: Can I rearrange my path order?
A: You can rearrange the order of your remaining paths one time before completing your first path (the first 20 levels).

Q: What is Spirit Clay?
A: Spirit Clay is the new seasonal currency, replacing Lucky Coins. Earn it through Codex progression and use it for Black Kiln spins.

Q: Can I save Spirit Clay for next season?
A: No. Spirit Clay expires at the end of every season. The Black Kiln will remain open for 3 days after the season ends, so make sure to use your Spirit Clay before it closes.

Q: What happens to accessories in the Black Kiln if they don’t sell out?
A: Accessories from each Codex season are exclusive. Even if they don’t sell out, they will be unavailable after the season ends.

Q: How do Black Kiln drop rates change if tiers sell out?
A: Rates are recalculated as supply runs out. If lower tiers sell out, your chances of pulling rarer items increase. But Mystics may also run out first since they have a lower supply.

Q: I have more than one S0 Codex Orb. What should I do with the extras?
A: You can only use 1 Orb per account. If you’re holding extras, you can list them on the marketplace. Not everyone earned one during Season 0, so there may be players looking to get their hands on one.

Q: Can I gift the Codex to another player?
A: Yes! You can gift the full Codex (all paths required) to another user, as long as they are currently a free user and haven’t activated any Premier Path yet.

The response to Entry #1 was electric and your energy fuels our late nights and keeps the momentum high during grueling testing sessions. You want to be part of this journey, we’re here to provide a front-row seat.

Before we dive in, a quick reminder:

The updates below reflect our current internal development. Some features are being prepped for production, while others are still in a “prototype state” where we’re evaluating feasibility. None of this is a commitment to a specific release schedule (or a release at all). Our priority is ensuring that only the most stable and impactful ideas make it into the final product.

This boss connects the Codex Season 1 lore directly to Atia’s Legacy, so we’re keeping its name under wraps for now. What we can tell you: it’s massive, it’s ruthless, and it’s ready to meet you.

It’s not alone.

A second boss is in development. The mechanics are unlike anything else in the game thus far, and the team spent a lot of time crafting an arena environment worthy of the fight. Here’s a glimpse:

On the weapons front.

We showed early footage in Entry #1. Since then? Bug-squashing mode. The Dagger that kept teleporting testers off the map still has its moments, but the chaos has been tamed significantly. Most weapon skill bugs are resolved, and the full arsenal is approaching launch-readiness.

Every weapon needs to have its own playstyle. A different way to fight. We’re close.

Now, the big one.

Last entry, we talked about the shift from squad combat to single axie combat as one of our hardest challenges. That shift is complete. Your axie stands alone now.

What followed was an entirely new problem: the Dungeon difficulty curve. Ten stages with escalating threats. Two modes (Casual and Hardcore).

Getting this right took dozens of iterations. Early internal runs were either crushing players by stage 3 or too easy by stage 10. The target: that feeling where you know you can do it, where every death teaches you something, and where wiping at stage 7 makes you want to gear up and run it back.

The numbers are nearly final. But once the playtest goes live, we’ll be watching the data and tuning in real time.

Here’s something we took away from Playtest 1: focus matters. Testing too many things at once muddies the feedback and makes it harder for both sides to learn.

Playtest 2 is built around one thing: the PvE experience with single axie combat. New bosses, new weapons, a new dungeon and finally, a new combat system. That alone is massive surface area to explore. So PvP is getting its own dedicated playtest!

We’ve been running PvP internally, and there’s still work to do on the latency side. In an action combat system where positioning and timing decide the outcome, it has to feel tight. We’d rather give PvP the spotlight it deserves than squeeze it in as an afterthought.

The good news: we’re targeting a shorter gap between playtests this time. If things go according to plan, the next one could land in weeks. No promises on exact timing, but we want you back in as soon as possible.

Exploration Note — App.axie

While the Atia’s Legacy team has been heads down, App.axie has been evolving. Most of that work traces back to one thing: bAXS.

Implementing bAXS across every game and ecosystem touchpoint is complex. Each game has its own reward structures, withdrawal flows, and edge cases. It takes precision. The rollout is moving steadily.

Latest milestone: Classic is officially shifting its rewards to bAXS. If you’ve been playing Classic, the rewards you claim starting next week will be in bAXS. Next season, you’ll earn bAXS instead of AXS. Origins is next in line, and that integration is actively underway.

Next up: Codex.

Season 0 was the test run. Season 1 is where it gets real. Deeper progression, better rewards, and a completely new way of sharing Lunacian lore that we’ve never tried before.

The biggest change is the Mini Path system. Season 0 had a single linear track. Season 1 splits into three lore paths, each one telling a different branch of the story.

When you open the Codex for the first time, you won’t jump straight into quests. You’ll choose the order you want to experience the paths. Drag, drop, set your priority. The order you choose matters because each path unlocks a unique set of perks and rewards as you progress.

Each path is distinct. One path grants free rerolls on your daily bounties (useful if you’re low on Fortune Slips). Another adds a new quest slot to your board so you can complete more quests per day. Different paths unlock different strategies for optimizing your Bounty Board grind.

You might’ve noticed a new currency in the screenshots: Spirit Clay. Lucky Coins are gone. Each season now introduces its own currency to keep things fresh, and Spirit Clay feeds into the Black Kiln, the successor to the Ascendant Wellspring.

Behind every smooth launch sits an extremely messy testing spreadsheet. Ours is no exception. The internal QA sheet for Codex Season 1 has surfaced some memorable issues: mini paths that floated away instead of reordering, perks that couldn’t calculate Master Quest chances, and reward claims that never stopped letting you claim. All caught. All fixed.

One of the best parts of building this season has been working with the community-designed accessories. The ideas that came out of the accessory design contest were strong, and several were so unique that the hardest part was polishing them without losing what made them special in the first place.

Seeing creations from fellow Lunacians make it into a live product is one of those moments that reminds us why we do this.

Contest Rules

• Players must register three teams each made up of three axies.

  • If collectible axies are submitted then morph parts need to be also submitted along with the axie.

• Teams cannot overlap by more than 9 out of 18 axie parts.

  • We will provide players with a tool to check team eligibility.

• Each individual axie can only belong to one team.

• Players may not swap axies between teams after the registration.

  • Morph parts for collectible axies should also not be changed once axie pools are released.

• The player who makes it to the Grand Finals without any match losses has a twice-to-beat advantage.

• To secure victory in a match, a player must win one game with each of their teams.

Lunacia, a new token has arisen: bAXS is LIVE! Bonded AXS is now usable across the Axie ecosystem. Use it to breed, ascend, evolve, forge, stake, and even mint Runes and Charms. If you can do it with AXS, you can do it with bAXS. Here’s what’s happening:

What is bAXS?

The bAXS token (Bonded AXS) is a variation of the AXS token. 1 bAXS = 1 AXS. However, you can only spend bAXS on things within Axie. That means no trading or transferring. This keeps more economic activity within the borders of our digital nation.

What can you do with bAXS?

Remember: If you can do it with AXS, you can do it with bAXS. Here’s what that looks like:

• Stake bAXS to earn AXS

• Pay for axie breeding fees with bAXS

• Pay for axie ascensions and evolutions with bAXS

• Forge new materials with bAXS

• Restore Atia’s Blessing streaks with bAXS

• Mint Runes and Charms with bAXS

• Buy a Codex Pass with bAXS

App.Axie will spend bAXS before AXS by default. For example, let’s say you want to ascend your axie for 10 bAXS/AXS. If you have 10 bAXS or more in your wallet, you’ll pay 10 bAXS. If you only have 1 bAXS, you’ll pay 10 AXS. However, if you have 5 bAXS and 5 AXS, you won’t be able to complete the transaction! In that case, we recommend converting your AXS to bAXS.

Note: You won’t be able to purchase axies with bAXS yet. We’ll launch that feature soon. For now, to buy assets on the marketplace, you’ll need to convert bAXS to AXS using your exchange rate on App.Axie before completing a purchase.

bAXS Exchange Rates

The bAXS exchange rate rewards devotion and encourages contribution to our digital nation. This is based on your Axie Score: The higher your score, the better your exchange rate when converting bAXS to AXS. Here’s how Axie Scores work:

pos2.ron wants to convert 100 bAXS to AXS. He’s a Mythkeeper. When he exchanges 100 bAXS, he will receive 82.5 AXS in return. The 17.5 AXS difference will go to the Axie Treasury. This encourages pos2.ron to use bAXS rather than trade it. It also strengthens the multimillion AXS Axie Treasury.

Stake bAXS —> Earn AXS —> Vote with both

• Get AXS rewards when you stake bAXS

• Get full voting power when you stake bAXS

bAXS can be staked to earn AXS, with rewards calculated on a 1:1 basis with AXS. It also carries full governance weight, meaning staked bAXS provides the same voting power as staked AXS at a 1:1 ratio.

bAXS Airdrop 1 is Coming Soon!

The first bAXS airdrop will happen in the next few days. After the airdrop is completed, you can visit app.axieinfinity.com/profile/claim-tokens/ to see your allocation.

As a reminder, wallets with at least 10 AXS staked were eligible for the 100,000 bAXS airdrop pool. Allocation was based on your Axie Score and staked AXS amount, using the snapshot taken on February 5. More details on the second bAXS airdrop will be shared at a later date.

Pro-tip: If you want to receive more bAXS in Airdrop 2, keep growing your Axie Score and stake AXS or the bAXS you receive from Airdrop 1. Your staked AXS/bAXS directly increases your total staking weight for the next snapshot.

As part of this transition, we are simplifying how AXS staking is managed.

The legacy AXS staking page at stake.axieinfinity.com will be deprecated. Going forward, all AXS and bAXS staking activity will be handled exclusively on App.Axie at https://app.axieinfinity.com/staking/.

This is not a new system, just a consolidation. By bringing staking into a single location, we reduce confusion, improve clarity, and make it easier to manage your assets in one place.

What Comes Next

bAXS going live is not the finish line. It’s the foundation. Following this update, ecosystem rewards will soon shift to bAXS including:

• Bounty Board rewards

• Classic and Origins rewards

• Homeland rewards

• Codex rewards

Welcome to Atia's Lab Log 2026 #1! 

Before we dive in, a quick note on the nature of these updates:

The status updates mentioned below represent our current internal development. Some are being prepped for production, while others are in a "prototype state," meaning we are still evaluating their feasibility. These are by no means a commitment to a specific release schedule (or a release at all). Our priority is ensuring that only the most stable and impactful ideas make it into the final product.

Deep inside the dungeon, a massive lunid has begun to move… We’ve successfully integrated its core logic and animations into the current build. We want to provide a formidable new challenge to battle. But… this isn't just a new fight. It’s part of our push to connect the gameplay directly to the lore and to Axie Core.

To help you conquer this returning threat (yes, that’s a small leek), we’ve been updating our existing arsenal of weapons. All original weapons now have new basic attacks and improved ultimates.

One specific ninja-like weapon looks incredibly cool but is currently causing some... creative problems. Our testers keep accidentally teleporting off the map, so it’s staying in the containment area until we can keep everyone’s feet on solid ground.

One of our biggest structural experiments is the shift to Solo Combat.

While the squad system had its fans, 34.3% of Lunacians from Playtest 1 requested more depth to combat. By focusing on a single axie, we can open up much more competitive and skill-based experiences, just as players requested. This also allows us to add new mechanics like ‘Dash,’ which lets you evade or reposition easily (a new feature for all Axies).

These ideas don’t solely come from the team; they come from fellow Lunacians:

“My concern is: with this squad style, it may deter players from cooperating with each other to accomplish things in game. My ideal MMO is where players are kinda forced to work together to pass a hard boss or a dungeon, not a 1-player-can-do-it-all game.” - Ken Sensei

“Very good system but hard to control all axies from getting hit which could be a problem if you have a harder difficulty boss that 1hit kos and you need to be able to dodge. I think the combat system should be revised to have a single axie out instead and building equipment around that axie.” - Moogeta

In this new system, any axie can be your leader, no more forcing users to use Tripp. This also ties directly into our new mode testing.

• Testing Mode #1: PvP Combat It’s still in early development, but we’ve got a version ready to be tested internally with the goal of adding it to the next public release.

• Testing Mode #2: We are experimenting with a mode where losing items (and your Axie) on death is a real possibility. It’s a “Risk-to-Earn” experiment designed to see how higher stakes can create a more meaningful and healthy economy. We’ve hit some backend blockers there, but with some fresh eyes on the dev team, the path forward is finally clear—it just needs more time in the lab.

The heartbeat of the new system is the Bonded AXS (bAXS) smart contract. We are currently in the stages of a rigorous security audit and deep-dive testing to ensure everything is airtight. Behind the scenes, the token logic is being codified into a comprehensive technical master doc.

This covers the entire lifecycle of the token:

• How we handle swaps, staking, and spending.

• New contracts to interact directly with these assets.

• Finalizing transaction flows to ensure the economy remains circular and robust.

We have been putting the system through its paces for weeks, simulating the use of bAXS for evolution, ascending, breeding, and restoring Atia’s Blessing streaks. One of our most intensive internal tests currently involves the logic for Minting Runes and Charms using bAXS.

Beyond the Axie Core and gameplay tests, we are also validating the dynamic exchange rates for bAXS → AXS swaps. We are verifying that the system accurately calculates the transition between designations, also important to highlight if you spend your bAXS you get a straight 1:1 ratio meaning you’ll get maximum value from your bAXS!

While testing continues, we are also looking at the broader user experience—

With bAXS live, our next challenge is creating a clear path for users to scale their designations. We have already blueprinted a visual progression bar to track your journey toward the next tier. However, our priority is ensuring the core staking systems are flawless and high-performing from day one. Since staking is the pillar that supports everything else, we’ve moved the visual bar to the backlog to focus resources on the foundation first.

Now with the core bAXS → AXS exchange rates established, our focus has turned to calibrating the specific benefits for each tier. We are shaping the experience to ensure that the climb from a Lunacian to a Mythkeeper feels impactful and rewarding.

As these systems come online, they will begin to ripple through the various experiences in Axie Infinity at different speeds.

Episode 3 of the Lunacian Lounge was a marathon session, featuring Jihoz, Jase, Shade, Cruise, and Pos2. The team unveiled a massive 2026 teaser video and deep-dived into the radical evolution of the Axie economy, the first-ever look at PvP, and the “sunsetting” of Homeland in favor of the new Terrariums system.

1. 2026: The Year of Big Swings

Jihoz set the tone for the year, acknowledging that 2025 was “too quiet.” In 2026, Sky Mavis is shifting to an aggressive, risk-taking stance to restore the economy and excitement around the brand.

• Information Sharing: The team is returning to a model of more frequent updates and transparency.

• Economic Restoration: The focus is on aligning human nature with system incentives.

• Market Momentum: AXS recently saw a huge “short squeeze” in Korea, signaling renewed interest in the token’s upcoming utility.

2. Bonded AXS (bAXS) and the Airdrop

The team revealed the specific Exchange Rate for bAXS → AXS, tied directly to a player’s Axie Score Designations.

The bAXS Philosophy:

• bAXS is non-tradable but can be spent 1:1 for all Axie Core related activity such as breeding, evolving, Codex purchases, and more.

• Conversion: Players can convert bAXS to liquid AXS, but the Exchange Rate depends on their Axie Score designation.

• The Airdrop: A snapshot will be taken on February 5th at 00:01 UTC. Wallets with at least 10 AXS stakedwill receive a portion of a 100,000 bAXS pool, distributed based on staking amount and Axie Score.

3. Atia’s Legacy: First Look at PvP

In a historic moment for the community, Jase and Jihoz faced off in the first-ever live PvP in Atia’s Legacy.

• Controls: Desktop play uses a “mouse-to-turn, keyboard-for-abilities” style reminiscent of classic MMOs like World of Warcraft.

• Combat Depth: The demo featured various abilities per player while controlling only one axie, instead of a squad axie.

• Playtest 2: Targeted for mid-March, featuring a “Hardcore Mode” where failure means losing equipment and potentially risking Axies (tested internally first).

4. Terrariums: Bringing Land Home

In a major pivot, Jihoz and Shade announced that Axie Homeland will be sunset and replaced by Terrariums.

What are Terrariums?

Terrariums will be this new experience that is basically the long term foundation of axie core. It will be a persistent land based gameplay layer where axie lives, grow, generate vallue, and more importantly it’s where future system like mini games, risk-to-earn, expeditions, territory, accessories, land items, Atia’s legacy… all plugged into this foundational Terrarium’s layer.” — Shade

• Yield Mechanics: Owners place Axies on their plots. The Axie’s quality (level, evolution, collectibles) determines the yield of bAXS and EXP.

• Land Items: Decorative items will now have functional utility, augmenting the rewards of the plot.

• Sunset Plan: Homeland rewards will roll over to Terrariums. The team is targeting the first half of 2026 for the MVP launch.

5. Codex Season 1: Songs of the Soil

The next stage of the Codex will launch alongside Playtest 2 of Atia’s Legacy to create a unified lore arc.

• Theme: “Songs of the Soil,” focusing on the history of Pot Golems.

• Lore-Driven: Lore will no longer be a background element but a “main lever” for ecosystem engagement.

• Bounty Board: Rewards will fully switch to bAXS once Season 1 begins.

Community Q&A Highlights

Q: Can we buy Axies on the marketplace using bAXS?

Shade: Not initially. Early on, you’ll spend bAXS on Core features (Breed/Evolve/Stake). However, we are working on a solution to allow bAXS to be used as “money” on the marketplace later this year so players can convert gameplay efforts directly into collectibles.

Q: Will there be a gap between Homeland shutting down and Terrariums launching?

Shade: We are still figuring out the nitty-gritty. It’s possible there will be a small gap, but the rewards are guaranteed to transition. We are targeting the first half of this year for the Terrarium launch.

Q: What about scholars and guilds?

Jihoz: The “scholarship” system needs to evolve. Scholars will need to “graduate” into collectors to get the best bAXS exchange rates. We have to evolve or die, and that means moving toward a system that rewards long-term contribution over industrial farming.

During our recent Lunacian Lounge, we shared our plans to transition Homeland to a new kind of land-based gameplay called Terrariums. Think of Terrariums as the foundation of Axie Core: A place where axies live, grow, and earn through mini-games, expeditions, guilds, terrotories, accessories, collectibles, and even Atia’s Legacy. Our vision is to create a unified hub where future experiences come together. They’ll also become a key place to earn bAXS.

We’re targeting Q2 2026 as a launch timeline for a Terrarium MVP. Around that time, bAXS will be LIVE, the bAXS airdrops should be complete, and Terrariums will emit bAXS rewards for players. This is a big moment for Axie: We’re going back to our roots by bringing our community’s original dream for land to life. bAXS is only the first step.

Lunacians, we are concentrating AXS where the competition is fiercest and commitment runs deepest. On Monday, we’re rolling out an important Bounty Board update that rebalances AXS rewards toward the leaderboard, expands who can earn from it, and sharpens incentives for consistent contribution. Here’s what’s happening:

Bigger and Broader Leaderboard Rewards

The leaderboard reward pool will increase from 5,200 → 15,000 AXS, nearly tripling the previous allocation. At the same time, the leaderboard will expand from the Top 1,000 → 3,000 players, significantly increasing the number of Lunacians who can earn fixed leaderboard rewards. This makes climbing the leaderboard more rewarding at every level, while preserving the value of finishing at the top.

Reward Pool Rebalance

Along with the expanded leaderboard, the Bounty Board reward pools have been rebalanced as follows:

• Leaderboard pool: 5,200 → 15,000 AXS

• General reward pool: 16,800 → 7,000 AXS

• Master Quest pool: remains unchanged at 5,000 AXS

The total AXS distributed remains 27,000 AXS. This is a redistribution, not an increase. In addition to fixed leaderboard distribution, the 7,000 AXS from the general reward pool will now be distributed proportionally among the Top 3,000 players based on earned points.

Here’s the formula:

(Individual User’s Earned Points ÷ Total Earned Points of Top 3,000) × 7,000 AXS

This ensures rewards flow to real contributors who are actively playing, with every point earned directly impacting final rewards. Consistent participation is now rewarded, even beyond the top ranks. More players earn. More effort is recognized.

Final Thoughts

The Bounty Board is designed to reward players who show up consistently, contribute meaningfully, and push the ecosystem forward. As our ranks have grown, it became clear that the leaderboard needed more weight, not just at the very top, but across a broader range of ranks where most competitive activity actually happens.

This update rebalances incentives by moving AXS from the general reward pool into the leaderboard, strengthening competition while keeping total AXS distribution unchanged. The result is a system that better reflects effort over time and creates clearer progression for players pushing their limits week after week.

Competitive Circuit 2 Updates

Several updates have been made to Competitive Circuit 2 to improve the competitive pace and focus. The circuit will now span four seasons from S13 through S16. While the Guild Wars tournament format has been removed from the circuit, we are excited to welcome many players back to the arena as bans from Competitive Circuit 1 have been lifted for everyone, with the exception of Maxcy/JDY.

Introducing the Classic Champions Invitational

We are excited to introduce the Classic Champions Invitational, which will serve as the grand finale of this competitive circuit! This invitational tournament will feature eight elite players, battling it out for a total prize pool of 5,000 AXS.

Four slots will be awarded to the Top 1 Arena Leaderboard player from each season (S13–S16), while the remaining four slots will go to the winner of each Season Championship.

Note: If a player qualifies through multiple methods (e.g., a Season Championship winner is also the Top 1 Arena player), the slot will pass to the next highest-ranking, non-qualified player from Season Championship.

For Competitive Season 13, all rewards will continue to be distributed in AXS. This includes rewards from Esports competitions, Guild Milestones, Guild Leaderboards, Arena Leaderboards, and Mini Tournaments. Introducing: bAXS Rewards

As shared in our recent Lunacian Lounge, S16 marks a historic shift for Axie Infinity. For the first time, all season rewards will be distributed in bAXS.

bAXS (Bonded AXS) is a non-transferable utility token backed 1:1 by AXS, designed to reward active players, while keeping value circulating within our ecosystem. It can be used for breeding, ascending, evolving, and staking, but it cannot be transferred to other accounts.

Players who choose to convert bAXS into AXS will pay a Treasury fee that scales based on Axie Score. High-reputation players, such as Mythkeepers, will pay significantly lower fees, prioritizing long-term contributors while discouraging short-term “farm and dump” behavior. The exact fee for each tier will be announced in the coming weeks.

In S16, the Top 2,000 players will share an 80K bAXS prize pool. The Rare Era alone features 20K bAXS in rewards, alongside additional bonus incentives.

In our latest Lunacian Lounge, Jase, Cruise, Shade, and Jaatster sat down to share fresh updates on the state and future of the Axie ecosystem. The discussion ranged from exciting new 3D leaks to one of the most transparent conversations yet around long-term economic restructuring as we head into 2026.

Atia’s Legacy: Weapons and 3D Accessories

The session opened with Cruise sharing a sneak peek at the latest development for Atia’s Legacy. The team is currently finalizing animations for a new lineup of weapons, including a fantastical Lantern weapon that functions as a unique throwable explosive.

We also got a first look at in-game 3D accessory rendering. Shade clarified a key point of direction: Air and Ground accessories are the current focus for 3D development. These assets are being reimagined with high-fidelity models and dynamic scaling, giving them more presence and purpose in a 3D environment. While they remain cosmetic for now, light utility is planned across both Atia’s Legacy and Axie Core.

Introducing bAXS (Bonded AXS)

A major highlight of the Lounge was the introduction of bAXS, an app-token version of AXS currently planned for a Q1 2026 rollout.

Here are the key characteristics of bAXS:

• 1:1 Endorsement: bAXS is backed 1:1 by AXS.

• Account-Bound: It is account-bound and non-tradable. You can earn it through Bounty Boards and Axie Games, use it for breeding or evolutions, and stake it, but it cannot be transferred to other accounts.

• Reputation-Driven Exit: If you choose to sell bAXS, a fee is paid to the Treasury. This fee is dynamic based on your Axie Score. High-reputation players, such as Myth Keepers, will face significantly lower fees, effectively prioritizing human contributors over “farm and dump” bot networks.

2026: The Year of Big Swings

Shade and Cruise directly addressed community sentiment around recent SLP changes. The message was straightforward: The era of small, incremental updates is over.

The team explained that past decisions were often slowed by a fear of community reaction, leading to small moves that failed to move the needle.

In 2026, Sky Mavis is taking “big swings” to protect the long-term health of the Treasury and AXS. This includes a “clean house” approach to prepare the ecosystem for the next wave of users.

One of the top priorities is tackling the Axie oversupply (12 million) through aggressive burn mechanics that make owning an Axie feel consequential again.

Community Q&A

Q: Why remove SLP farming before the next utility is ready? Doesn’t that cause panic

Cruise: We don’t want to reveal the full hand too early and risk overhyping before delivery. However, SLP farming was accelerating so fast that waiting even one more month would have jeopardized the next phase of the economy. We had to plug the leak now to ensure our future plans have a foundation to work on.

Q: Are these changes hurting real players more than bots?

Shade: No. These changes are designed to benefit real players. They remove incentives for the bot-heavy experience we see today and give us space to polish new products. For years, we spent enormous dev effort on cat-and-mouse bot detection. By leaning into on-chain systems like bAXS and Axie Score, rewards naturally flow to real humans. This frees our developers to build gameplay and features instead of just fighting exploits.

Q: Why keep putting effort into SLP at all? Why not just use AXS?

Shade: This is a debated topic even internally! Some of us prefer a pure AXS focus, while others value SLP’s history. For now, SLP remains the primary breeding fuel and will likely see further utility (like crafting or stamina) in Axie Core. But make no mistake: AXS is the center of the universe, and bAXS is how we ensure it stays that way.

Q: Why should players trust these “Big Swings” when floor prices are low?

Cruise: Doing the same thing repeatedly won’t produce different results. We’re not happy with a $2 floor either. We believe restructuring emissions and addressing Axie oversupply are the only viable paths to meaningfully increasing the value and utility of every Axie. These Lounges exist because we want to build with the community, not behind closed doors.

Final Thoughts

The team reaffirmed that Lunacian Lounges will continue on a regular cadence to provide a consistent touchpoint for the superfans building this world alongside us.

While we are still finalizing details, we will be sharing a concrete 2026 Roadmap over the coming weeks as these “big swings” come together into a unified vision for the future of Lunacia.

Contest Rules

• Players must register three teams each made up of three axies.

  • If collectible axies are submitted then morph parts need to be also submitted along with the axie.

• Teams cannot overlap by more than 9 out of 18 axie parts.

  • We will provide players with a tool to check team eligibility.

• Each individual axie can only belong to one team.

• Players may not swap axies between teams after the registration.

  • Morph parts for collectible axies should also not be changed once axie pools are released.

• The player who makes it to the Grand Finals without any match losses has a twice-to-beat advantage.

• AIP-004 is LIVE on App.axie! This proposal will determine whether to stake the AXS and RON in the Axie Treasury. If passed, this would secure another revenue stream for Lunacia on top of the ETH staking yield our digital nation is earning after AIP-003.

• Voting Details: AIP-004 will require a supermajority of 66% YES votes to pass. Voting will take place from December 15th to 22nd. Vote Delegation does not carry over between proposals. If you want to delegate your Voting Power for AIP-004, you must do that manually even if you delegated Voting Power during AIP-003.

What is AIP-004?

The Axie Treasury holds about 23,000,000 AXS and 96,000 RON. At today’s prices, these tokens are worth over $23M USD. If passed, today’s proposal would put ALL of these tokens to work. AXS → Staked via App.axie and RON → Staked via the LRON staking protocol.

This proposal emerged from community discussions focused on strengthening AXS tokenomics, reducing idle supply, and expanding the Treasury’s long-term financial capacity.

If AIP-004 is passed, the Treasury will begin to accumulate AXS from the staking contract and RON from LRON. Because AXS staking emissions are capped, adding the Treasury’s ~23M AXS will reduce the APR for existing stakers. Across discussions, the shared view was that the APR impact is a reasonable trade-off in exchange for activating the Treasury and strengthening the ecosystem’s foundation. The rewards accrued to the Treasury become fuel for future initiatives, creating a compounding benefit for the Axie community as a whole.

Last week, the Atia’s Legacy team met with our community to discuss Atia’s Legacy’s development. Cruise and Shade gave some feature and timeline updates. They also shared some of our vision for an even more expansive Atia’s Legacy. Here’s what they talked about:

Building the Multiplayer Foundation

Cruise opened by sharing how the team has been heads down refining the game’s multiplayer systems. Internal teams are focusing on combat feel, network stability, and backend infrastructure, ensuring that Atia’s Legacy can handle the demands of large-scale dungeon gameplay.

“We’re making sure it feels good, no lag, no sync issues, and that our backend can actually support what we’re dreaming up.”

The team plans to share early internal footage or screenshots once the foundation is solid, giving the community a preview before the next public playtest. The vision remains unchanged: a long-form, replayable MMO experience where your 100th or 10,000th hour still feels meaningful. That endgame loop, what you do after mastering the basics, remains the design anchor.

New Combat Direction: Solo Axie Battles

One of the biggest reveals of this AMA was a major shift from squad-based to single axie combat. While Playtest 1 featured 5 axies fighting together, internal tests showed this approach limited clarity and balance, especially in multiplayer raids.

“It was cool, but chaotic,” Cruise explained. “When everyone brought squads, it got hard to read, hard to coordinate, and we lost that sense of class identity.”

Now, each player will control one primary axie whose body parts directly define combat abilities. This change opens up deeper skill expression, strategic variety, and collectible utility.

Key benefits:

• Axie parts gain active abilities rather than only passive skill and stats

• Classes and archetypes such as tank, DPS, and support become clearer

• Combat feels tighter and more personal, closer to ARPGs like Diablo or Brawl Stars

• Each axie can equip multiple weapons, adding flexibility

The team is testing dodge, sprint, and other movement skills to make the minute to minute gameplay more dynamic. This shift also future-proofs for multiplayer party play by enabling clearer roles, better synergy, and less chaos.

Multiplayer Dungeons and Extraction Gameplay

The next major milestone is the debut of multiplayer dungeons with extraction elements, inspired by modern PvPvE risk games such as Tarkov and Arc Raiders. The team emphasized that Atia’s Legacy is not becoming Arc Raiders, but the genre’s recent success helped validate some of the direction the team was already exploring.

“We have been exploring this space since before Arc Raiders blew up,” Cruise noted.

Dungeons in Playtest 2 will combine boss fights, exploration, and extraction. Players can choose to extract early for safety or push deeper for higher stakes. The objective is not to make a sweaty, unforgiving extraction title, but a version that is emotional, thrilling, and approachable.

Cruise summarized the principle simply:

“How can I get my mom to risk to earn? That is the design challenge.”

Making Risk to Earn Accessible

Risk to earn traditionally caters to a small, niche subset of players. Atia’s Legacy aims to redefine that. Losing gear or extracting late will still have consequences, but the system is being shaped to reward smart thinking and team coordination rather than reflex-heavy gameplay.

Cruise called this emotional earning.

“Excitement comes from stakes. Accessibility comes from control. We want both.”

Elevating parts, classes, and AXP utility

A clear message from Playtest 1 was that equipment overshadowed the axie’s identity.

We’re working on fixing that.

In the future:

• Axie parts will have active abilities

• AXP levels and evolutions will provide meaningful progression

• Stat granularity will allow upgrades to feel significant again

Cruise noted that collectors and breeders who own wide axie rosters should feel that depth reflected in-game. While not all of them will be live for Playtest 2, it’s something we’re thinking about looking ahead. This also opens space for deeper economy loops, since higher level axies will demand rarer materials and more thoughtful crafting.

The Codex: From Rewards to Real Utility

Shade confirmed that the Codex will evolve beyond cosmetic rewards. The team is experimenting with:

• Accessories that provide in-game bonuses

• Consumables connected to Axie Core and Legacy

• New reward categories that help bind the entire ecosystem

“Think of the Codex as a testbed,” Shade said. “It is where we experiment with reward types that loop back into Legacy and Core.”

Everything in Axie is intended to matter over time, including badges, accessories, collectibles, and earned items.

Economy, Collectibles, and Design Balance

Atia’s Legacy is being designed holistically with the larger Axie ecosystem. This includes Axie Core, the AXS token economy, materials, collectibles, and eventually Land.

Shade highlighted that this approach is fundamentally different from earlier titles.

“We are not just making a fun game. We are building a connected system.”

Cruise added that Axie cannot aim small.

“We cannot just serve the same degen audience. We have to reach millions.”

Balancing Axie Complexity

The Axie universe includes parts, classes, levels, evolutions, accessories, and more. Balancing all of this at once is impossible, so the team will introduce utility systems in phases.

Life Skills

Crafting will be a core pillar of the long-term economy. Life skills such as fishing, mining, and gathering will complement the crafting system but may roll out gradually due to complexity.

“Fishing sounds trivial, but doing it right is its own mini-game,” Cruise explained.

The long-term intent is to allow meaningful non-combat progression that fuels the economy, even for players who never enter a dungeon.

Community Involvement and Transparency

The team reiterated that these fortnightly Lunacian Lounges exist to keep development transparent.

“If you are here, you are basically in the dev room with us,” Cruise said.

Community feedback directly influences design decisions, and the team wants players to understand how and why those decisions evolve.

Playtest Badges

Two badges are being issued for Playtest 1:

• A participation badge for all players

• A top 100 leaderboard badge

These badges will appear soon and may gain future utility across the Axie ecosystem.

Yes. Risk to earn is the central focus of Playtest 2.

The next test will validate how fun, accessible, and emotional the loop feels when tied to multiplayer dungeons.

How are you balancing the economy without overwhelming players?

By rolling out economic utilities one layer at a time. The team does not want all axie traits or collectibles to become active systems at once.

Cruise noted that Origins was stuck on a content treadmill, which limited opportunities for deeper changes. Atia’s Legacy is being paced more intentionally.

How will collectibles and accessories matter?

Some will influence combat. Others will increase loot or crafting outcomes without affecting combat power. This separation ensures collectible ownership feels rewarding without creating imbalance.

How will life skills fit into gameplay?

Life skills will support crafting and the broader economy but may release gradually. The team is exploring whether some life skills can even exist outside the main client.

How will Axie Core, Land, and Atia’s Legacy connect?

Everything is being built as one unified ecosystem. Rewards, materials, and consumables will have shared use across Core and Legacy. Shade emphasized:

“If you engage with the Axie ecosystem, it will pay off. Everything will matter.”

When is Playtest 2?

Late Q1 or early Q2 2026, depending on stability. Internal testing is active, and community previews will be shared once systems look and feel solid.
